FU Cancer - Chapter 4

4-20 - Appointments & Updates

Updates! I got a CBC panel done to see if there's any clinical flags like white blood cell counts. Surprise, nothing came up out of normal. This is the 8th vial in 4 days. One of the symptoms that I've been having (cancer symptom) is night sweats. Like, whole body including thighs dripping wet in the morning. I thought that perhaps my hormones were out of whack (I did have kids early...) and maybe I could be perimenopausal. Maybe the night sweats were just night owl hot flashes? In a regular follow up meeting with my endocrinologist, I asked if he could run blood work to see if perhaps something was funky with my baby making hormones. Seven vials later and guess what - no abnormalities with those hormones. However, what is one symptom of some cancers? Night sweats. Yay. So we ruled out hormones and now there's another indicator that could bolster a case of cancer. CBC being normal has me at fingers crossed that it's A. No cancer or B. Early cancer that's not putting my body into shutdown yet? My medical degree is currently on the way from the Google Institute of Infinite Curiosity and being shipped from the Bermuda Triangle. So, interpret as you may (though if you are a medical professional, let me know your thoughts!).

I got my PET scan scheduled - YAY! It's on Thursday 4/28. I'm not sure how fast I'll have answers after the scan. I'm fortunate enough to have so many supportive folks around me and so I was able to speak with a friend who is a cancer survivor and she was able to tell me what to expect during the PET scan. So happy to have a heads up and insider perspective. Hearing what other people have gone through is helpful to me. So is Googling (though it's slowed down a ton). I seek to understand and have a curious mind. Anything I can learn at this time will empower me for the next discovery, test, discussion and I promise I am not worrying too much. I'm not stressing. I'm just processing and understanding. <3

I also have an appointment to see a pulmonologist. That appointment isn't until May 10th.

And lastly, I am almost there with my business. I also recently had to go down to the County Offices to get my Fictitious Business name filed. Basically, it's a public recording that states who the person behind the business name is, if your personal name isn't a part of the business name. And, I got a business bank account opened so yay! Now all I need help on is (everything) a logo and branding, my website, my pitch deck, and so on... :)

Picture of the duck that I got at the ENT's office. ENT is another specialist that I've been seeing for chronic ear problems. The doc would have referred me to a head MRI to check out what's happening in my ear, but looked at my chart and said that I have more pressing matters to deal with first (LOL, spicy). So yeah, my life is doctors appointments and blood work. And starting a business. My house is a mess of course ;)
