FU Cancer - Chapter 14

My sister, her old dog Oscar and I as she headed back to the Carolinas.

Our socially distanced dinner with the one person in the house that didn't get COVID.

June 2, 2022 - Quiet

Time for one of those updates :)

COVID came and went. It was very minimal with the Paxlovid so our isolation time was very... quiet. I took the opportunity to ignore my email, text, social media and computer. It was a nice break. We just got garage cabinets installed in our garage so we spent most of the weekend cleaning, organizing and purging. In the end, Nick never ended up testing positive for COVID.

Now that we've had the 'vid, it's very anticlimactic. We were fortunate to have the anti-viral plus being fully vaxxed and boosted, it caused minimal disruption to our health and normal life. My sister unfortunately did not have the anti-viral and her health is a little more difficult and she's still suffering from COVID but is home safe and sound in South Carolina again.

In the meantime- post biopsy update! None. There is nothing. My doctor, whom at this point told me he'd answer my call in the middle of the night because I'm at the top of his priority list, told me that I could stop finding a need to call/connect with him. After my COVID diagnosis, I could take it easy for a bit and just focus on being otherwise healthy. He also mentioned that he has a flag on my chart to be updated if there are any updates from my biopsy and that there's nothing on his end either. There is a possibility that they had to do some additional work with my cells, such as doing a dye/stain to further investigate the type of cancer. And that he mentioned could take an extra 5 days or so. Regardless, I'm going to continue to live in a land where I can ignore the cancer diagnosis and get crackin' on my client work and home improvement projects.

But, for those of you impatient with the "no results yet" status, you'll be happy to know that the lung nodule board has met regarding my case and I have an appointment with the thoracic surgeon on June 7th (Dan's birthday of all days).
